What are some of your favorite tools or applications you use, or can do without?

The entire Adobe Suite! I know AI is the fire thing right now and will be moving forward, but I have not leveraged it as much as others.

What type of of work do you most enjoy?

Logo Design and Brand Development. This means starting with logo design and building up to website design and additional brand visuals.

Which project left the biggest impact on you as a designer/creative?

A recent project I produced, and the client rejected it, simply because they could not let go of their old logo design. And yes, I was paid a lot of money to develop it.

What advice do you have for younger or less experienced AA/BLK designers?

Don't compare yourself to others. In my opinion, it is the most crippling thing you can do. It also feeds into imposter syndrome.

What would you say is the best way to take advantage of the AAGD Network?

Man, just take time to make the connections. Don't be afraid to reach out.

What advice would you give to someone who is interested in what you do?

Make sure you love doing this. It is not a career that you can just jump into, without the love and passion for it. There are a ton of more "objective" careers you can hop into and perform at a high level without the passion and love. But this career field requires you to love it!

If you had a special message written on your wrist, what would it be?

Do it afraid.
